A petition against the destruction of the Danube bank, Ryahovo, Ruse


People of Ryahovo are complaining against digging gravel from the bottom of the Danube outside the designated perimeter. They are worried that because of unregulated activities Danube beach has decreased dramatically and in the river appeared huge pits each 3-4 meters deep. And a year ago the coast near Ryahovo a project for half a million levs to built groins to protect the coast from corrosion was finished.

By statistical data for the last 50 years Bulgaria has lost 5000 acres territory only undermining the Danube bank.
